No, as a private patient you do not need a referral from a doctor to see a physiotherapist.

If you are a private patient and you have seen a doctor or other therapist a letter from them detailing any investigations they’ve performed or treatments tried is useful. Please bring along any tests you’ve had (such as xrays) as they can assist us in providing you with an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.

Wyndham Physio and Rehabilitation accept WorkCover, TAC and DVA clients. We are experienced in seeing a wide range of work and motor vehicle related injuries. We liaise directly and often with insurance companies to ensure our clients are receiving the best treatment possible. For your initial appointment you will need to bring your Doctors referral, claim number or appropriate cards to present to our staff. Please ensure you also bring any relevant paperwork and scans.

Our Physiotherapists are accredited by TAC and WorkSafe as Occupational Physiotherapists

Medicare EPC Program (EPC) is a referral only program from your GP for which Medicare pays a rebate. You will be charged and billed as a normal private patient.

We offer our patients the convenience of claiming the Medicare rebate when paying the account. Following full account payment by cash or card the rebate is paid directly into your Medicare nominated bank account.

As a courtesy to your therapist and other patients who may be waiting for an appointment, we ask you to provide 24hrs notice for cancellation of appointment times.

Failure to do so may incur a cancellation fee depending on circumstances.

Please note that Worksafe, TAC and EPC will not cover this fee and therefore the charge will need to be covered by the patient as a personal cost.
