If at first you don’t succeed – try, try again, say dietitians.

A new survey shows most Australians aged 25-49 years have tried to lose weight in the past year, yet eight in 10 haven’t lost as much as they wanted to. The Newspoll study of more than 500 men and women aged 25–49 years, commissioned by Australia’s peak nutrition body, the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA), shows that 55 per cent of adults in this age group have tried to lose weight in the last 12 months.
